The Benefits of weight training
Who out there pumps iron? I know that often we favour cardio to resistance training when working out, but there is concrete evidence to suggest that we shouldn’t.
If you are wanting to lose body fat, then adding some weight training to your routine will help. Regular training with weights will increase muscle mass. Muscle is calorie burning tissue essential to a strong metabolism.
As you get older you lose muscle mass and consequently this results in a loss in the ability to burn as many calories, hence weight gain.
