Dance like you dance when there’s no one around
But this time there will be someone around. Other Zumba enthusiasts will be around. They will be dancing too.
So what’s Zumba?
Zumba is a form of modern group fitness with dance moves inspired by Latin dance and hip hop. There are a number of different classes, each offering a different type of workout.
Zumba fitness classes usually last around 20, 45, or 60 minutes. Zumba sessions are claimed to help you burn between 400 and 600 calories per hour.
So why do it?
Zumba, in addition to calorie burn, exercise your whole body in a way that allows you to have fun while exercising. Most dancing is a great exercise for burning calories and fat, and Zumba is no exception. When was the last time you saw a fat dancer other than fat Tony at that wedding a few weeks ago?!
It also helps you workout your whole body. This is excellent for toning and sculpting the body. Tighter abs and toned arms and legs are the hallmarks of a dancer.
It is also fun. I have blogged before about making exercise fun being half the battle to sticking with it. Group activities encourage camaraderie and bonding. Just convince the ears and the brain that you are just dancing and the muscles will follow.
Give it a go and let me know how you get on.
