AN EARLY MORNING HIKE UP MOUNT COOLUM
Who’s up for a quick mountain climb?
For the fourth in my advent series of favourite exercise spots, I recommend a breakfast hike up Mount Coolum. This is a great one to get the heartbeat raising and the legs and arms nicely toned. It is however a bit more of a tougher workout than others I have posted so please take a look at the websites below and decide if it is right for you before starting. If so, then the pictures from the Trip Advisor site should be sufficient inducement to do this.
I have also posted some pictures from last weeks walk to give you an idea of the terrain. Good shoes required.
It takes less than an hour to get up and down if you are relatively fit and using it as a brisk work out. By all means take longer and enjoy the experience. There are spectacular views up the coast to Noosa and down to Mooloolaba and Port Cartwright.
Don’t forget the water and the mozzie repellent. It gets hot up there and is certainly one for early morning or late afternoon.
There is a coffee van in the car park at the base for water and refreshments. If you have a little more time on your hands Little Lane Espresso in Coolum Beach is a good spot for coffee and breakfast.
