“Run and raisin”
Keeping those legs toned is a full time task. While running, cycling and squats are great for keeping those legs firm, strangely it turns out that chocolate and cake are not so good. Squats will only get you so far, and we all get bored with that.
The problem it seems is that your body, particularly the brain, all too quickly gets used to your routine and consequently, in a short period of time works against you, to lessen the benefit.
Research from the United States has suggested that to combat this, eating half a litre of ice cream 5 minutes before working out will benefit your workout. It seems the ‘brain freeze’ (that numbing sensation you get to the forehead when scoffing a gelato too quickly) affects the neurotransmitters, which in turn makes the body believe that it is working harder than it is, thus increasing calorie burn.
Next time when you are struggling with your cardio, try a tub of cookies and cream and see how you get on. Just a quick word of caution. Stay clear of frozen yoghurt as that doesn’t work. It seems low fat doesn’t necessary mean low fat.
Trust me girls. It’s the future.
