Super Healthy Veg
Without starting to sound like a dinner mum, it is time for you to be eating more vegatables. They are an excellent way in which to get the ‘good’ carbs and are essential for obtaining the essential nutrients that the body needs.
These are my top superfood tips from the veggie world.
Kale and leafy greens – these are a super cheap super food. Kale is packed full of protein, vitamin K, C, and A, dietary fibre, calcium, potassium, iron and magnesium. Stir fry it will a little garlic to add a natural multivitamin to you diet.
Cabbage – this is one of my all time favourites. The greener varieties mirror the nutritional qualities of Kale. Who doesn’t enjoy a salad with finely sliced cabbage? It is also very filling meaning that you can easily incorporate this into meals as part of a weight loss plan. Just don’t turn it into a soup and eat it everyday!
Carrots – these go hand in hand with cabbage to make a perfect salad. More vitamin A than most veg and add more flavour and more colour to the plate than a packet of Haribo Starmix. Keep plenty in the fridge for a healthy snack.
Spinach – Hey, who is going to argue with Popeye! Spinach is packed with minerals, vitamins, fibre and protein. Again add it to salads to beef up the nutritional value, or gently wilt it as a healthy bedding for meat or fish.
Try adding these into your diet.
